365/129 ~ Beautiful Bouganvilla ~

The Bouganvilla is native to South America, and does very well in tropical locations.  The beautiful bright colors on this plant are NOT the flowers, they are the bracts that surround the flower which is the little white thing in the middle.  The stems are covered in SHARP long thick thorns.

  1. We have bouganvilla's here in South Texas as well, they love our humidity! My mother used to have some at the house I grew up in and I hated them, we would play hide and seek and those darn thorns would always get me!!!! I love them when they are in pictures though, no way of getting poked : )
