365 ~ 115 ~ Muncher

I try to keep a lot of plants in the garden for the caterpillars to munc on.  This little guy will become a gorgeous Florida Swallowtail Butterfly with a radiant blue coloring.  Here he is munching on some butterfly weed which has a pretty orange flower...see tomorrows post.

The final bath after 2 weeks of puppy slobber and rolling in the dirt.

"Daddy, I sure don't like baths, but I LOVE you!"

365 ~ 108 ~ On A Mission

I am playing catch up on my photos today.  For the past 2 weeks, I have been "puppy" sitting...or MONSTER sitting.  This precious 6 month old puppy is 8 lbs heavier than my 7 yr old Boxer, and has about 10 times the energy, pulling power and chewing ability!

It's been a crazy couple of weeks, I took the photos, but did not have time to post them...I was pretty much exhausted by this little cutie!

Stormie is having fun, but she's met her match for energy.

365 ~ 102 ~ Fetch!

The other day we took the boat out.  It was our annual "test run" to make sure the boat is running smoothly after winter.  The weather has warmed up and the water is nice.  We brought our little punkin, Stormie, with us.

365 ~ 93 ~ Sleepy Frog

Hubby saw this cute little guy parked on the windowsill on the side of our house.  He asked me... "Do you need to take a photo?"... me:  "what?"... "Don't you need a photo for your picture blog thing?".  :)  He's precious... I love him! :)

365 ~ 14

I am participating in the 2011 Mommytography 365 Project!

The idea is to post an image a day, use and learn new things about my camera and photography. Anyone interested in photography can join, no need to be a Mommytographer. We have teens to adults, male and female, as well as people from all over the world.

Next door to our Dr. office is an optomologist.  This dog seems quite content, as he lives there each day.

Sunspot

My boxer has adopted this spot on the floor where the sun comes through the window...I think she believes she is a cat. :)

I loved the softness of this photo, and even liked (to an extent the shadows)...but they were too deep and you can't see her adorable face.  A flash washed it out completely and took away "what I saw".  Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Come join the fun!  Click the button on my top left bar to find out more.

365 ~ 1, 2, and 3

I am participating in the 2011 Mommytography 365 Project!  I tried this last year, but pooped out mid August.  I'd really like to make it all year this time!  So here goes!

365 ~ 1 ~ New Beginnings!

On New Years Day, as we were taking down our outdoor Christmas lights, we came upon this butterfly...his cocoon, freshly opened was attached to a light strand that was strung around our front door.  He had just hatched...what a way to start the new year...beautiful!

365 ~ 2 ~ Restoration

After our RV fire this past summer, we are finally taking the time to replace the carpet, yet again....and make new privacy curtains, and new seat covers, and install a new stereo.  The  benefit of this hard work is a cute and fun RV to camp in...woo-hoo! :)

365 ~ 3 ~ Cozy Creativity

I've been wanting to make some changes to our bedroom, and I was waiting for just the right sale to help me out...today I found a steal on some soft white fabric...the lace I already had tucked away in my craft closet, and it was bleached white after this photo was taken...

365/132 ~ Taking A Break ~

Caught this little guy in my backyard...

I edited this photo on Picnik, using the "Vibrance" tool to enhance the color a bit, and the "Lomo-ish" tool for effect.  I always like to frame a photo too, as it kinda makes it stand out.

365/127 ~ Pollen Head ~

This is a Bumble Bee, they are gentle, live in very small hives and are extremely shy to sting people.  I garden around them all the time and they don't mind at all (unlike their finicky cousins the honeybees).  I love the last picture, because he literally has his whole face stuffed inside the flower...SO cute! LOL

365/113 ~ Creature of the Night ~

This large spider was busy weaving her web last night.  Such fine workmanship, as she steadily went round and round.  The web, when finished was over 1 1/2 feet across.

We had to "google" this as we haven't seen on before.

From doing a search on "big fat round orange spider", we came to the conclusion that is is a 'type' of Orb Weaver Spider - there are many types.  On deeper research, I'm pretty sure it's called a Nocturnal Orb...which would make sense considering she was building this quite late at night.

Although it must hurt pretty bad to get bit by one of these (they are shy to biting though), their bites are not harmful to humans...whew!

They can make webs up to a Meter across, which can actually score a small bat or bird....WOW!
They take down, and often eat, their webs at the end of the night, making a new one each day.

There ya' go, your daily spider lesson all in one places, LOL.
